Artist Bill Goodman

Bill Goodman grew up in Southern California. He began drawing at an early age and at 12 yrs. old he began showing his art at local art shows. His paintings started to sell. He's been painting ever since. His artwork leans mostly towards the American West. Bill has been a member of many art associations in California and was the chairman of the Death Valley 49er's Invitational Western Art Show in 2010 and on the board of directors for the Bishop Mural Society for many years.
His love of the West started when he was very young. Bill's dad, Dick Goodman of the Western singing group The Reinsmen, had a large influence on Bill regarding the history, songs and culture of the American West. Bill's artist mentor was good friend western artist Robert Wagoner who was also a member of the Reinsmen. Bob Nolan, Roy Rogers, Michael Martin Murphy, Ken Curtis from Gunsmoke TV series and much of the cast of Gunsmoke and Bonanza were dear friends of Bill's dad. It was a fun time growing up around friends like that.
Bill fell in love with the Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains and the Owens Valley when he was 10 years old.  He and his wife Barbara moved there in 1990 and still live there. Bill loves to paint the fall colors, snow, wildlife, the beautiful Eastern Sierra and Owens Valley.
Bill has a very unique talent of reflecting back to those days on the open range of the West. Whether it's a traditional painting of the trail herding cowboys from a by gone era, or a mountain scene or a myriad of color found only in the High Sierra, the viewer is transported back to a special time and place in history.
Bill welcomes you to experience THE WEST through his artwork.
